In Defense of Grover

Poet activist argues
with  republican
she doesn’t even know via Facebook
upon discovering Mitt Romney’s plan
to defund her beloved PBS-
and thereby threaten
Sesame Street with cancellation.

He tells everyone “Sesame Street would be
supported by a private producer
as it should be.
Hell, I know
many groups that would buy it/support it.

This poet thinks
corporate control of
childhood TV classic
.is one of the worst
ideas she’s heard- ever.

Big business’s will
shouldn’t get manage
toddlers positive exposure
to disability and other forms of human difference.
Thereby creating fewer bigots
in our next generation.

She thinks every childhood
is entitled to as little commercialization is possible,
regardless of family income.
