you’ve
never met in the midst of pain
and
rehab (rehabbing in the desert is worse
than
I can imagine; my own experience
in
air conditioned Bay State comfort
gets
grueling enough sometimes)
I
refuse to call you inspirational,
because
I find the term irksome.
Why
do people behave as if
keeping
on is anything more
than
simply what needs doing?
So,
no
I won’t say the I-word
as
many of my fellow activists call it,
but
I will say your words serve a purpose
you
can’t have known they needed to.
