A Fryer’s Lack of Words

Chickens’ bawk or cock,
depending on gender,
both often loudly
awakening/irritating keepers at
an hour of thirty
some call dark.

Would we be less
inclined to consume
their fowl flesh
if they spoke the Queen’s English
instead?
